1. City Wide Clean-up (LA Downtown & Midtown)
Many people believe that beautifying Los Angeles is an urgent need; however, the truth is that many do not take action. We need to take action in improving the city and creating a healthier, safer living environment, and PAVA is leading the way.
2. Bird Sanctuary Griffith Park Clean-up
PAVA has adopted Bird Sanctuary. Hundreds of volunteers participate in cleanup and maintenance not only for preserving natural habitat of plants and insects also for providing places to relax to neighbors.
3. Coastal Clean-up
People who are in love with the beach have taken pride in actively participating in this Clean-Up. Each year, thousands of volunteers take a stand to love and protect our beloved ocean.
4. LA River Clean-up (2nd Saturday of June)
The Los Angeles River has played a crucial part in making Los Angeles one of America's Signature cities. In the past, people often came to the river for recreation and even to drink its water. However, the Los Angeles River has been polluted and has all but been abandoned. PAVA has taken charge to help clean the Los Angeles River for the past eight years, and approximately four to five thousand of Los Angeles' citizens have shown up to each of these annual Clean-Ups to take up responsibility through their actions.
5. Tree Planting
PAVA WORLD has been planting trees to support the implementation of Amigos de los Rios mission to create an "Emerald Necklace" green infrastructure network of parks and trails throughout the Los Angeles Basin to connect the Mountains to the Sea, and in doing so, improve access to recreation and link Southern Californian communities to nature and each other, expand access to safe non-vehicular transportation, create culturally meaningful public spaces within blighted communities, and protect urban communities from the harmful effects posed by climate change.
6. Local Community Clean-up Event
PAVA is taking lead in keeping this city clean not only to maintain its glamour but also to protect its living environment.
